On the family course in 2026 you have the opportunity to have a unique experience together with your family (children +4 years). In the summer of 2026 we have a family college in week 27.
The focus words for the family courses at Nordjyllands Idrætshøjskole are sports, joy of life, togetherness, community, inspiration and presence – and we guarantee that you and your family will get it all!

NOTE! When registering multiple adults, a separate form must be completed for each adult. Children must be registered together with one adult.
Family courses at college
A family course at NIH is an adventure and an experience for the whole family.
With us you will have an active week where you and the children will experience a lot from the world of sports. We strive to put together a versatile program where everyone can join in the lessons - whether it's cross training or yoga.
Our sports philosophy is that everyone can participate, regardless of level.

The rooms
Our rooms are located in an extension of the college and all have their own bathroom and toilet.
The teaching for children and adults
Most mornings, the children are in age-appropriate children's groups, where they are taught sports, play, creativity and much, much more. All in an educational and inspiring context.
At the same time, adults are taught. Here we present different options so that you can choose the sport that you think sounds exciting. Other times it is common to everyone, for example during lectures. Our themes are of course about sport and movement, but it is always placed in a general context. The teaching is of course shaped by sport, but we will also try to challenge you intellectually during the teaching. We have sport in our hearts and minds!
Price and subsidy
- Adults: DKK 5.725.
- Children: DKK 3.825.
Adults are eligible for a subsidy. This means that the activities during the week are mandatory for all adult participants on the family course. We try to create a program where there will always be something for everyone.
Experiences at the family college
College night
Our college evenings are a mix of coziness, fun experiences, games and challenges. One of them typically takes place in our large climbing center, which consists of highwire courses, QUICKjump and three 125-meter cable cars. Another may focus on singing and music. The most important thing for the evenings is that we create the right college atmosphere!
Sports and play
Family College is a college course. This means that we have an idea for everything we do. Sports and play are placed in a framework that has a broad general purpose. The world is more than sports, so we also have ambitions to point out these life-enlightening aspects.
Children's activities
Most mornings, the children are in age-appropriate children's groups, where they are taught sports, play, creativity and much, much more. All in an educational and inspiring context by our incredibly skilled child care workers.
Leisure and evening off
There are good opportunities for relaxation and coziness in the evening, where you can unwind after the day's activities. Here you can enjoy a glass of wine, a beer or a soda and have a good chat with the other students in informal and cozy surroundings.
The children can be safely and securely tucked away in the rooms, so there is peace for both adults and children. This gives you the opportunity to enjoy the evening at your own pace, while still being close to your family.
