Sometimes we are reminded that what we do at a college can leave its mark much further into the future than we even realize 🥹❤️
Lena, our disc golf and ceramics teacher, is currently in Lithuania to represent Denmark at the World Disc Golf Masters Championship 🇩🇰🥏
And in the middle of it all, a Norwegian comes up to her:
“Hello, Lena.”
He says he has never forgotten her. The first time he ever held a disc in his hand was as a student at Nordjyllands Idrætshøjskole back in 2006/2007.

Almost 20 years later, they suddenly stand there again. At a World Cup in Lithuania. Both with a disc in hand ❤️
It's hard not to be a little moved.
Because perhaps that's one of the best things about college: You never quite know what will happen to the students. An experience. A person. A community. Or maybe a whole new passion that began with the very first disc.
And sometimes, many years later and far from home, you are allowed to discover that it actually left a mark 🥹🙏

While half of the college has been sent on an adventure in France, we at home have thrown ourselves into something at least as dramatic: marriage 🥳
The theme week has offered the whole package:
💃 Bachelorette party
💒 The big wedding
💔 And of course… a happy divorce 😂
No legally binding promises were made along the way – but the “romance” was high, the party even higher, and beautiful… that’s what it was 🥹😂🥳

Today is Birgitte's last day at NIH❤️ For more than 25 years, she has been our constant rock in the office and helped countless students have an unforgettable college stay. We will miss you immensely when you walk out the door today to your very well-deserved early retirement❤️ THANK YOU for your HUGE efforts throughout the years🫶
